Swimming!

Today Charlie and I went down and swam in the pool at our apartment. The water was pretty cold but it felt nice with how warm it was outside. Charlie tried out his new floaty. He loves the water! He loves to splash and kick his feet. He also likes to drink the water...so gross. I'm working on teaching him that's disgusting but he doesn't seem to care. It was a relaxing and fun afternoon in the water and now that it's warm we'll be swimming a lot more!

Picking Strawberries

Today Charlie and I spent the morning picking strawberries. We drove out with my friend Ashley to Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls.

Once we got to the strawberries Charlie went crazy. He loved them. He quickly learned that he liked the red ones better than the green ones. He ate a ton and even more dirt! Within about two minutes he was COVERED in strawberry juice. He loved it though. He just ran down the rows and dug in the dirt. He tries to run now and starts to go to fast and falls down, its pretty funny.

Ashley and I ( mostly Ashley since I was trying to stop Charlie from ruining all the strawberries) filled up two boxes of strawberries. When we went to buy the strawberries the lady was joking with us and said," he's one of the ones we should have weighed before and after." It's true Charlie ate probably 20 strawberries. Then we headed to the grass area and stripped him and scrubbed him down and put on his extra outfit.

On the way home he was exhausted and just sat in his carseat and sang along with the music. Now we've got lots of beautiful delicious strawberries to eat! Yummy yummy!

Walking!

Charlie started walking last night! He went from only taking three steps in the morning to walking all the way across the room at night.  He just walks back and forth now. I counted 20+ steps! He's 9 months 11 days.  I can't believe how fast he is growing up.

Daniel's 26th Birthday!

Daniel turned 26 last Saturday! I decorated the apartment on Friday before he got home from school. I had made garland out of small felt circles, blew up tons of balloons and made a happy birthday sign out of felt. Charlie chases the balloons around for hours. after he got home we went to Chuy's for dinner. It is our favorite place so far in Austin. Then we came home and put Charlie to bed and watched a movie.

On Saturday for his birthday. We all slept in a bit then went down to the mall. Whenever we go shopping we just end up finding something for Charlie. Daniel picked out a cute tie for him. We then went down to Home Goods and Daniel picked out some food from there. (for some reason he LOVES to try all there packaged foods). He got mango licorice, tigers blood soda and root beer in bottles. We then went grocery shopping. When we got back we put everything away really fast and I started to make his cake. Daniel has the same cake every year now except he wanted lemon instead of white. I made it for him for his 24th birthday (our first one together) and now that's what he picks for every special occasion. I make a delicious whipped cream, white chocolate pudding, marshmallow frosting then cover the cake in strawberries, raspberries, kiwi and blue berries. Yummy.

That night we went to south congress for dinner and Italian sodas. Our friends Ashley and Greg came with us. We are dinner at a pita trailer. It was SO good! It was pretty cold and windy out so we were happy to get inside Big Top Candy Shop. It is such a cute shop. We got delicious Italian sodas and Daniel picked out a bag of salt water taffy, his favorite. Then we walk around a bit outside. And headed back home for cake and presents. It was a wonderful day and so fun to just focus on Daniel for a few days.

Daniel is such a wonderful man and I am so blessed to have him as my husband. Charlie already crawls to the door as fast as he can when he hears Daniel come in. He loves his daddy. We love you Daniel! Happy birthday!

Park

Charlie and I went to the park yesterday. My friend Ashley came along too which made it fun for me! Charlie liked the park but he LOVED the rocks. And he put ALL of them in his mouth. I spent the whole time pulling rocks out of his mouth. He loves the swing. We also went over to the grass area and he crawled around and watched the dogs. It was such a nice day outside. I love going to the park now that Charlie can stand and crawl around from thing to thing on his own. He sure is close to walking!

Valentine's Day

Charlie and I were in Las Vegas for Valentine's Day watching my siblings and Daniel was at home in Austin going to school. So I didn't have high expectations for Valentine's Day but it ended up being great. Daniel ordered me chocolates and the book The Hobbit for me do I would get my present on Valentine's. It was such a great present. It is a gorgeous book with beautiful illustrations inside. For Charlie I got him the cutest little knit zebra stuffed animal.
Since my parents were out of town I set up little gifts for my siblings and blew up tons of balloons and put them all over the floors of their rooms. Charlie loves the balloons and chases them all around the house for days. It was sad to be away from Daniel but nice to be with my family.
Once I got home Daniel planned a little party for us to celebrate Valentine's. He built an awesome fort over our bed and got lots of different treats to eat. It was fun to be back with him and Charlie loved the fort!

9 months!

Charlie turned 9 months old yesterday! I can't believe how fast it's gone. He is such a fun little boy. He is VERY active. He never stops moving. He started crawling when he was 5 1/2 months and hasn't stopped since. He loves to stand up and now can stand up on his own without holding on to anything. He LOVES to eat. The only thing he doesn't like is peas. He has begun to take steps on his own but doesn't seem very interested in walking. His favorite thing to do is pull anything he can off shelves. He also likes to suck on everything. And lately he loves to sneak up on me and bite my toes...so weird. He also loves to give kisses with his whole mouth open. He has started to sleep through the night more and now only wakes up once or twice and cries for about 5-10 minutes then falls back asleep. The other night he slept for 13 hours! It was awesome. He also takes 2 naps a day which are each 2-4 hours long. Charlie loves to play peek-a-boo and listening to music. He laughs all the time. Especially when I kiss his hands. Charlie is also SUPER ticklish! He loves to play with his daddy and gets so excited everyday when Daniel gets home from school. He is such a happy boy and hardly ever cries. This last week he has started wanting to be held ALL the time. We love our little Charlie boy! He is so much fun!
