Dentist

Well this morning Charlie was napping and I actually had time to get ready and start cleaning when I remembered Charlie had a dentist appointment at 10. I looked at the clock an it was 10:02. I grabbed Charlie out of his crib stuck some pants on him and ran out the door. Well we got there and I course had tons of forms to fill out. This was the first time I had taken him. I had no idea I was supposed to take him at 6 months for the first time? We had to wait for quite a while and of course Charlie runs around touching everything, sucking on everything and dragging a big trashcan around the room and knocking it over. Well when our long wait was over (and I was ready for a nap) the dentist came in. I had to hold Charlie down so the dentist could brush his teeth. NOT an easy task. Charlie is SO strong. But luckily Charlie likes getting his teeth brushed so he was okay for the first little bit. Anyway, the dentist said his teeth look great. I love his eight little teeth. Charlie's favorite part was his new blue toothbrush he got to bring home. He loves it! He has a thing for tooth brushes for some reason...?
Well now he's laying down again. And all I can think is cleaning sounded a lot better this morning...

San Antonio: Day 3

Our last day in San Antonio was a blast! We took Charlie to the zoo for the first time.   It's a great zoo and there were a few animals I hadn't ever even heard of.  He loved looking at all the animals... until he fell asleep.  His favorite were the fish!

After the zoo we went to an early dinner at another restaurant from Man v. Food.

Then we headed to a park.  After we had been sitting there for a while a duck walked up.  Charlie chased it around laughing trying to catch it. It was so cute!

And then Charlie got his arm stuck in his puffs...
That night we went to a Spurs game.  We sat only one row from the very top. It was pretty nauseating at first but we got used to it.  The game was fun and they won which made it even better.

After the game we drove back to Austin.  This trip was so much fun! Charlie is at such a great age.  He loves to run, play and laugh which just makes everything we do extra fun.

The next day Charlie had a really high fever and we ended up taking him to the emergency room.  It ended up that he had Hand Foot and Mouth Disease.  The poor kid was so miserable.  He was sick on an off for the next few weeks but he's all better now!

San Antonio: Day 2

We spent our second day in San Antonio at the River walk again.

When we first got down town Charlie was asleep and didn't want to get in the stroller.

We headed toward the river and found a nice little plaza where we let Charlie run around and play.

We walked around for a while then went over to the Alamo.

Later we had lunch on the river.

Then Charlie wet through and I didn't have any extra clothes! We ended up finding this shirt at a gift shop for him.  He loved riding in the stroller and talking to all the other babies.

Later that night we went to a restaurant right next to our hotel we had seen on Man v. Food and got a giant cinnamon roll!

That night Charlie had fun playing in his Graco.

San Antonio: Day 1

In March Daniel had Spring Break so we spent three days in San Antonio (an hour south of Austin).

We got up early Monday morning, packed up the car and headed out through the back highways of Texas.  It was a beautiful drive.  Lots of green fields, little streams and ponds.  We even saw donkeys and llamas.

Our first stop was in Wimberly a quaint little town with fun little shops.

There is a river that goes through the middle of Wimberly where we spent some time.

Then we continued down to Gruene which is another small town.  First we went down to a delicious Mexican restaurant with an outdoor patio.

Then we walked through a wonderful antique shop.

We also went to the old fashioned general store and bought some Texas cookie cutters and a Blue Bell ice cream cone. Yum! Charlie loved the ice cream.

Then we continued our drive.  Once we arrived in San Antonio we went down to the Riverwalk for a few hours.  It is a beautiful walk with ivy covered buildings on both sides of the river.

Then we headed back to our hotel. (Which was HORRIBLE! But it was super cheap, so oh well.)  Charlie then opened two bananas and ate most of them, then smashed them into the ground...
